The absolutely MOST common reason for a failure is a typo in the user or domain portion of the message, so I always look there first. Otherwise...
Right-click the message, look at the document properties, second tab. Look for the field "FailureReason" and read that. Usually, there will be some human-readable explanation of the failure. If not, look for a three-part SMTP code, such as "SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 5.3.0" .Look up the code (5.3.0) here: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3463.html
